Unfortunately, video technology was not available 20 years early. During a
break on a Pittsburgh fantrip circa 1974, Harold Geissenheimer and Ken
Hussong took two others - I think they were Bob Korach and Bill Vigrass from
Patco - through a non-rehabbed 1600 and pointed out all the body cancer. It
was to illustrate the extent of PAT's rebuilding work. I took some slides,
but this is the sort of thing that should have been put on video.
Also, would not be surprised if fantrip featured a non-rehabbed 1600 in
morning and rehabbed car in afternoon - just so folks could compare the
results of the Tunnel workcrews handiwork.
Gosh, that was a long time ago.
