You want the story of the picture. Well, our "PCCs" have trucks similar to
the Pittsburgh interurbans (B-3), but there were various small differences.
In addition to these, there was also low experience with the new design and
shortage of high grade materials in the earlier years of the Cold War, which
resulted in many failures of the motor suspension (cracking). In several
ceses the motor ended up on the street, but was very difficult to get it out
of the truck. Building the small pit and pushing the car above it (with
motor wires already disconnected) was the only way how to remove the motor.
