Matt,
I forgot to mention that the Doggie Beach in Evanston is on open water (Lake 
Michigan), while the becach in Chicago is a lagoon a couple of hundred feet 
inland from the lake.  We prefer the open water beach.

There are also theee Doggie Parks near our home.  They are fenced-in former 
farms that dogs - and owners - can roam around in.  The park closest to our 
home is about 50 acres.  See attached photos taken in July. Our Maggie is 
the black dog.
