For the Hays/Glenwood Bridge search...
There seems to have been more homes, and another factory in that area,
and a railroad track that crossed over Carson Street and up along what I
think is Baldwin Road.
Do a search on Historic Pittsburgh images and type "Hays" into the
search field. Two particular shots come up. One is entitled "Hays
Traffic" which shows the Glenwood Bridge off in the distance to the
right, and the other is called "Hays Neighborhood" which shows the
intersection of Eight Ave. with route 837, and just up ahead is the
junction of cartracks for Routes 56 and 55.
Here is the link to do the search:
http://images.library.pitt.edu/cgi-bin/i/image/image-idx?xc=1;page=searchgroup;g=imls
The links direct to the photographs themselves are longer than the
Glenwood Bridge, so it is probably easier if I just give you the seach link.
