Ww have a C J Dengler picture in the museum library that shows a  
truck for a low floor car being rebuilt on the street ... the route  
cards show that they were capable of such feats in not much more than  
an hour.   I'm not sure that they could do the same with a PCC or  
that they would want to in such a congested area.

Many transit companies, both large and small, used dolly wheels on  
which they could rest a truck to tow it back to a maintenance base.    
It wasn't at all unique.   It is both fortunate from the company  
standpoint and unfortunate from the historian's perspective that  
there are few pictures of such happenings.

Something else we should ask Tony Desensi about before he forgets it  
all.
