I fear that I did not pay any attention to the online posting about a
Lewis's Guide. We have a number of them in the library, and they're not
known for their accuracy in all instances.
What we really need is someone who will go to Tarentum and read the Valley
News-Dispatch. The owner of the paper agreed to it several years ago, but
we haven't got up there.

What is curious Matt -- is the citation your forwarded is only the
back part of this. Is it the 1915 edition?
Reason asked. I have a photo of a place called Windsor Hotel which,
after many attempts and four different hotels by that name, we seem
to have pinned down to River Street and Pine Street in Natrona. It
existed there in the 1910 - 1920 period. Lurking in one corner of
the postcard is one of the double truck Allegheny Valley cars with a
sign that reads all the towns from Natrona to Aspinwall.
The 1915 guide in the digital citation that Dennis put on line shows
that the cars ran through from Pittsburgh to Natrona with connecting
cars from Buquet to New Kensington. The light is beginning to come
on that the guide book had not yet been revised since the strike
which shutdown the through streetcars to Pittsburgh and that the
split of the two ends of the the AV line came after 1915.
