                And this type of system greatly confuses
*Route__Length.* Railfans would boast about Long Car Lines in
their cities because they were through routed ---- LA-LA-LAnd
LATL comes to mind. So why doesn't Pgh. combine Charleroi with
Trafford as one line?!?!?!?! Miss your switch and end up in
Uniontown! Should have been a PCC charter to Connellsville --
could easily loop there to return!

                Imagine that with early abandonment of DALE
((1940.08.02)) that overhead came down and some track removed so wasn't
available for fantrips.

                Thanks to Bill Robb, FWS, Bob for comments on JTC.
*After* ((Never Before)) sending the email I went through the PCC
books and the Johnstown book (forgot about schedules in Appendix,
Bill!) and found:::::::

++    Morrellville//Roxbury as  *Main__Line*
                which took practically  ALL
                17--PCCs for operation upon
                delivery (PCC-CC_pg.103!)

++   Ferndale//Coopersdale receive
                PCCs 1949 (PCC-CC_pg.103!)

++   Franklin receives PCCs 1952
                (PCC-CC_pg.104!)

++   1954 -- only 5 PCCs needed for base
                service  (TJC&S_pg.044;
                PCC-CC_pg.104!)

++ Not many photos with Pepsi Bottle Cap,
                 which apparently debuted mid to
                 latter 1950s.

++   Benscreek, Southmont, Horner St.,
                Oakhurst apparently in PCC
                 Destination roller unless made
                up by railfan

                Photo on pg.056 of Rohrbeck's book shows 368 and 404 on
Baumer Street -- sans date. Only Dale or Horner cars used this
street. Same photo from Railroad Avenue Enterprises (PN-12687)
dates it as *1945* but PCCs didn't arrive until 1947 so possibly a
typo and 1955 could have been meant -- but photo lacks TC overhead.
    PCC Very New looking (rear view -- no grease trailings on gray
roof!!!) Wonder if Horner could have been through routed with
Franklin?

                Did Horner remain intact after TC conversion??
Rohrbeck lists Horner as being abandoned in 1960 (TJC&S_pg.056) at end
of rail service but also lists conversion to TC as Nov-1951 (TJC&S_pg.043.)

                One 8X10 I have *seems* to show that one of the turns
downtown had wire but not a frog indicating very little usage -- PRCo
did some of this as well.

                Here is a listing of PERC // PRMA charters on JTC
---- must have been many people to be able to charter 3- and 4-cars
at a time(!!!) ((I have photos of 408 with PITTSBURGH destination
---- probably photos out there of 408 with Charleroi and Washington
as well!!!!!!!)):::::::
