Probably a legal issue with  ({[pat.]})       PRCo may have required the 
removal since it remained a viable company even though disassociated 
with Railways.       This is to prevent liability for anything that 
happens after  ({[pat]})  takes over.

With the Pittsburg and Birmingham, PRCo folded it into their operation 
and  *possibly*  assumed may of the obligations of the former so a name 
change doesn't have the same immediacy.

Definitely agree that  ({[pat]})  was Heavy Handed and Anything But Subtle.
