The Phillips line had a white on green sign...this "blue" was another case
of Bob Brown's memory not being 100%, and I take responsibility for the
error.  The Hunker route did not have its own sign, as nearly as we can
determine.  Main Line cars alternated trips on this route and just used the
regular signs.  West Penn destination signs were always an approximation,
anyway!  Phillips cars never went north of Connellsville, on either route.

Youngstown-Baggaley tripper signs were white on red; through cars to Hecla
carried green signs.  The latter once went on to Scottdale (and Meadow Mill
until it closed).  Too bad there was no color film in those days (or a
surviving sign).  But I'll bet they were green, at least in later years.  We
have one picture of 831 at Latrobe barn in 1939 with a Scottdale sign, and
it looks just like the other Latrobe signs (yes, even with B&W films
differences show!).  But the only photo of a Meadow Mill sign is a pre-1922
shot of 204 (it went to P&AV that year) at Swedetown on the old track.  The
sign reads MT. PLEASANT  SCOTTDALE  MEADOW MILL and the background appears
to be about the same shade as the car, which would have been dark green.
But the sign could have been red, too...or black.  Black is more logical,
since it wouldn't have duplicated a color from Scottdale north.

Pg.09 of the PRMA WP book indicates that the  'Back'  Line had a white
on blue destination sign.       Is this:::::::

1.>--    Greensburg to Uniontown through Hunker,
             Leisenring, Phillips??.......

2.>--    or Greensburg to Uniontown through Hunker,
            Dunbar??.......

3.>--    or Connellsville through Hunker to Greensburg?


Pg.09 of Volkmer's Color book including WP shows what  *appears*  to be
White on Green from Connellsville through Phillips to Uniontown.

And I also saw a Red on White Latrobe, Youngstown Baggaley sign in the
book as well, pgs.21 and 24.       PRMA book indicates that Latrobe is
White on Green, but that may be Hecla to Latrobe shuttle.
