I believe that the bridge that slipped during demolition was the South 22nd
St. Bridge, and an ironworker (his name was Winner) lost a leg in order to
remove him from the structure. A surgeon from the University of Pittsburgh
Medical School had to climb the bridge to perform the amputation. I
remember the worker's name because a friend had the same name.
