Just in case you guys haven't seen this. I suspect that PTM has these files as well?

http://digital.library.pitt.edu/cgi-bin/f/findaid/findaid-idx?type=simple;c=hpead2;view=text;subview=fulltext;q1=pittsburgh%20railways;rgn1=Anywhere%20in%20Finding%20Aid;id=US-PPiU-ais7429;rgn=item

Also, in response to a question of mine:The Archives has procedures in place to create duplicates, either actual
photographic prints, digital scans, or photocopies, at nominal cost to
those who require them for their research. In the case that the items
are unable to be copied because of size or condition of the original
material, copying by researchers may be permitted with the approval of
the department head and under supervision of the curator responsible for
the collection.

The photographs in question are showing signs of wear and other
deterioration. Our concern for the preservation and access of these
items has led us to scan them for online presentation in a web site
dedicated to the photographs of the Pittsburgh Railways Company. Once the
collection goes online, access to the original images will no longer be
permitted. This is to protect the collections from further damage
through handling. All access to photographic images will then be
directed to the web site. Even though the collection is not available to
the public right now, I can let you know when it is available and you can
retrieve the images you need from the web site. We expect the online
collection to be available for research by the second week of April.

I am hoping she means 2005!!!

Please let us know if you have additional questions. You may also contact
our department head at michaeld at pitt.edu.

Perhaps PTM can lend some of its photographs to this endeavor?

Ray
