Glad this clarified some of the former PRCo trackage for you. The
photo is from the UOP site -- don't know specific URL.
Interesting trackage on Diamond in 1917 -- single track to
Forbes. An inbound car on Forbes must have used the single track
to reverse ends and go back as the turnouts at Grant only allow Grant
cars to turn onto Diamond -- if a Diamond car turned onto Grant it
would be travelling the wrong direction!! There appears to be an
X-Over on 6th btwn 5th and Forbes so conceivably an inbound car on
Forbes could continue to Diamond, turn right onto the wrong track at
Grant, then onto the wrong track on Fifth, then the same on 6th and take
the X-Over to be back on the right track outbound. But in those
days there would be a formidable amount of opposing trolleycar traffic
for that to be negotiated successfully.
Grant street needs realignment near Liberty, tracks need to be added to
12th and 11th, 4th needs to be connect to Diamond and 2nd and a whole
host of other changes!
