With  Digital__Command__Control  (DCC)  for models these days, BEMF is 
built into the decoders which allows for much smoother control in 
addition to constant speed of the equipment regardless of grade.       
Not really interested in the latter because the prototype PCCs didn't 
have that feature, but the smoothness of control is a big plus.
