It looks like leather! We have a sample of the mohair...it had a zigzag
pattern and was clearly identifiable.

It looks like mohair upholstery. Unless I'm wrong, only about 50
cars of each of the 1000 and 1100 groups had mohair and the rest had
leather. But I'm not at all certain. All I can be sure of is that
they were all leather in the period that I was riding them (after
1950). The glass safety barrier in the windows was retrofitted to
the earlier cars to match the later ones.
