The Dormont School System had an Annual Picnic at Kennywood.
Reduced price tickets bought in advance also included a One-Way ride to
the park on PRCo Charters -- that meant TrolleyCars as long as they
operated to the park.
We boarded in front of the Mt.Lebanon Presbyterian Church opposite Bower
Hill Road. There must have been about 20 trolleycars go outbound
one right after the other -- That Was A Sight. We made a right
turn onto Carson Street then followed the 77/54 to Craft and then the
68-line to the Park. Don't remember anything about Kennywood that
day but Do Remember The TrolleyCar Ride -- parents met us there and
brought us home!
As a Family we often went to Idylwild. We liked the roller
coasters at West View Better!
