And some of us would never be able to get anywhere without them because we
live in low-density communities!  Of course, when my parents chose the
property I now live on, the interurban ran a short distance away...but so
did the new highway.  They chose the location because of both.

I never liked automobiles. Even as a kid. I was probably not aware of that,
but there was perhaps some subconscious influence of the fact that they
killed streetcars in many cities not only in America.

Automobiles are so much useful, but imagine how the life would be nice
without them.
