I did/do not dislike Schwabach, though I thought the retail choices and
hours were a bit limited, but simply like my little suburb better. And it
would have been a hefty hike to that train station from where we stayed. I
might prefer an apartment on a car line in East Berlin to living in a town
like Schwabach when I become geezerly enough for movement to be severely
restricted.

As the Fonz would have said, "Correctemundo."
I wonder if EHL has yet come to the conclusion, which he had not ten
years ago, that the town of Schwabach, Germany had a lot to offer.
For an old fart (and I might add Ed has now passed into Geezerhood),
it offered food stores, places to buy clothing, a toner cartridge,
prepared meals, and even religious salvation. If you couldn't find
it there, the town had a train station ... and Nürnberg was just a
perhaps 20 minutes away. One didn't need to worry about what happens
when you get too old to drive your car.
I agree with Boris on this one. There are thousands of those little
towns scattered across Europe. We used to have them. We don't any
more.
How about it Ed?
