10-4 on the use of the photo, Jim. I wasn't looking at the original article
when I responded.
The rumor was that "they" took a PCC to Greensburg one night, since that
would be the first tuning point beyond Trafford. I have no knowledge of the
accuracy of the rumor, not do I think it's anything that could be confirmed
by reading the papers of the day. If it happened, it was done very quietly
by engineering types from both companies, perhaps without top management's
knowledge? This is purely speculative. And all those people who could
confirm or deny it are probably dead.

You Are Both Correct. The picture showed Black Diamond Jct with
1646 backed down Donora and 1614 coming in from Charleroi and a regular
17xx-I southbound to Charleroi -- This Photo was from the Joint PERC /
Akron charter.
The above mentioned photo was *-used-* by Bill Vigrass in his article
on the Great Circle Tour which started in Mt.Lebanon and worked
clockwise through WP and back to Charleroi interurban on Regularly
Scheduled Vehicles.
Ed -- If You Think Of It When You Are Totally Bored -- anyway to
trace the possibility of a PCC heading up the WP Trafford Line?
You mentioned that you had heard rumors of such.
