This is the first of two subjects ...

Ben Rohrbeck just released a new book on West Penn Railways ...
mostly nice pictures except for the few that are out of focus ...
probably most of them came from Steve Maguire.

If any of you plan to buy a copy, I would suggest you wait a few
weeks and then buy it from the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum book
store. Ed Lybarger is talking about printing an errata sheet to
include with any copies that the museum sells.

I doubt very much that the author would send out an errata sheet
because that would force him to admit that more than half of the
captions contain errors. Many of those errors would tend to
indicate that he never was in any of the towns along the West Penn,
never followed the routes that the trolleys ran, and probably never
even looked at the pictures for which he was writing captions. One
perfect example is one he captioned 'along the B&O in South
Connellsville' in which photo the car just happens to contain a
Greensburg - Irwin destination sign and you can see the PRR behind it
at the West Jeannette siding. Another good example is captioned
"at the top of the Race Street hill in South Connellsville" which I
find interesting because Race Street is essentially flat, the wall in
the picture is not on Race Street and neither is the house in the
picture.

Ed's copy of the book has red marks on every page.

So buy the errata sheet from the museum....
