Hi Mark!


The  URLs  for the double point RR style turnout are still at the bottom 
of this email  --  ALL  rails, including the points, are rail height and 
slide across the top of the ties on tie plates  --  Both points move in 
tandem.

The  NEW  URL  below is an old one provided by Ed of construction of the 
Drake loop.       The point is several inches high and contained within 
a casting  --  the point moves to set the straight or diverge move and 
the point in this photo is on our left.       The Mate is an open ended 
casting with fill in the flangeway so that the wheel will ride through 
on its flange in part, especially when taking the diverge move and the 
wheel must pass over the straight flangeway gap.       How the wheel 
makes it through the mate is determined by the point on the other side.

With double points the wheels on both sides of each axle do not have a 
gap to pass over.
