And if you talk to your ISP you will probably get a lot of double-
talk. And if Derrick talks to his, he will probably also get a lot
of "it ain't our problem, it's their problem."

Herb Brannon and Ed Lybarger went through this when Adelphia.Com was
broken up. I couldn't get messages to either of them, and it was
particularly annoying going to Ed because Comcast own his end of it
and they served me but the best they could say is, "We're working on
it." It was sort of a take off on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:
"Some Day your Prince Will Come." Some Day, but don't hold thy breath.

My friend Bruce Bente just went through a similar masacre when Bell
South decided that they were not going to allow any other companies
to use their DSL lines. Dial up yes. DSL no. They sent him a
registered letter telling him he had 48 hours to solve his
problems. Of course Bell South would be happy to accept him as a
client. But his modum ... after two hours talk to India and three
hours on the phone to Costa Rica (we can't possibly hire
Americans) ... it turns out is not serviced by Bell South. So he
has to also spend another $50 on their modum. And in the process of
installing Bell South's DSL software, gues what .... it erases part
of the Windows operating system. I've know this man since he was
in college 48 years ago. He is normally very even tempered.
Normally. This may have been an exception. He also had to spend
$100 on a computer technician in Asheville to reconfigure his computer.
Of course, for Bell South, t'aint our problem.

But understand guys, I wasn't sending anything to specific people to
get around anyone. I mailed everything to the list as always.
