I've only run a train on street tracks once and that was in Latvia a  
couple of summers ago ... a Czech-built PCC motor and trailer just as  
you saw it in the movie.   And I was intelligent enough to watch, in  
the mirrors,  the second car come through the switch work before I  
hauled back on the controller.   It was an opportunity I had on the  
CERA tour to Estonia, Latvia and Russia.    One of those few times in  
my life when I've actually run streetcars on the streets.    I have  
to admit that it was a fun experience.
