Different business by 1976. Government owned it. If it didn't
run, the subsidy money still came in. You loose less money by not
running. And you no longer have the obligation that the private
companies had to sweep the streets.
It was obvious to me that PAT had that figured out immediately after
the 1964 take over by where they had positioned all the company
sweepers in a row at Craft Avenue. All of them derelict and
outside. They'll never be needed again.
