And here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania we had one about 20 years ago
that did some foundation damage to my house. I had to chip out some
of the original mortar and redo it. More interesting that that, I
was attempting to remove an object that our dog should not have in
his mouth when the quake began. That, believe me, was a new
experience: to have your hand in the mouth of a Doberman when every
hair on his back stands straight up and the entire house buzzes and
quivers. Almost made me want to move to California where I could
have sunshine and warmth with my earthquakes. And it was only 4.5.
