After rambling along about the ORM (Ohio Railway Museum) this week and 1772,
I saw an article in our local newspaper today about the museum. We are only
65 miles north of Columbus and there isn't much news in town so they look
anywhere for a story.
The ORM is changing their direction after many years (60). I'll summarize
the major points.

A consultant recommended about 3 years ago they accentuate the most
significant part of their collection. "There are relatively few museums that have
trolley equipment and none that have the quality we have" according to board
member John Wells.

One rail expert told the board, "You probably have the finest collection of
interurban streetcars and trolleys in the US and you should concentrate your
efforts in preserving and showing these items"

The vote to eliminate the railroad items came last month.

Some will be scrapped, including two large cranes. New owners plan to
restore others, including Engine 578, an N&W 4-8-0. That was the Abington branch
power.

The engine is going to a restorer in Coshocton (might be the Ohio Central RR)
and two pullman cars to another in Dennison.

Maybe they have finally seen the light.
