OK, so there were at least two 1700's like that.
This scene at the Brookline loop brings back good memories. My aunt
lived at the end of the line. Riding to there from town was a big
treat for me. The best parts of the line (aside from the tunnel and
ride through South Hills Junction) were the ramp from Dawn Junction and
the ride up Brookline Blvd all the way to the end. And coming down West
Liberty and heading up the ramp was a big kick, rising above the motor
traffic that continued on to route 51 and the Liberty tunnels.
Listening to the PCCs at night glide down the prw to the loop was
somehow, comforting: they were still in service, they could be counted
on, and being at my aunt's house overnight meant another ride on the PCC
to back home.
