Hi Matt!
Very Very common Official PRCo paint Scheme. Because of expediency
and $-savings PRCo simplified the paint scheme over the years.
Repaints in the **-Early__1950s--* went to the hourglass front dash
ala 1700s as delivered on everything from M11 up.
About 1959-1960 the "V" front appeared - simpler masking than the hourglass.
Then repaints sported Just The Simple Red Dash as ALL Air-Electric
PCCs and 1600 were delivered.
The Half n' Half (as I have dubbed it (see Noah's ArkIves for this
list!)) as pictured here is the simplest paint scheme that allows for a
minimum of masking - economical!! PRCo 1400s and forward sported
this scheme - don't remember any 12s and 10s and 11s gone by then.
The cream on the *--Repaints--* tended to be very yellow - somewhat
like a sickly mustard - and reminded me of colors when someone
UpChucked! It was not at all the subtle cream of the original
delivery. While the reds looked fine when freshly RePainted, they
faded to a not so pleasing color as well.
