So to get back to Fred's question about the Pennsy station.  Was the
station in the brick building in the center of the photo?  It contains a
restaurant to the left, and what appears to be an empty storeroom to the
right.  Is he entrance in the archway toward the back of the building?

I don't remember that building but I do remember an empty lot and stairs
going up to a platform.  I'd see commuters climbing the stairs for the
train as I commuted to the incline - that was 1960.
