Route 24 was isolated from the rest of the system on January 26, 1920 with the closing of O'Donovan's Bridge due to structural deficiencies. At the time, the line was operated with a single-truck car, number 207, which was demolished 7-2-20 in a collision with a P&LE locomotive. Car 211 replaced it, but burned on 10-15-21 outside "Schoen's Gate" (entrance to Pressed Steel Car Co.). The following Saturday, the company dragged car 572 across the railroad tracks to replace it. The route is listed as being operated with a single-truck car into 1927, when the data in that column ceases. At some point, car 4344 was brought over and worked up to the end of service. It was maintained on the street at one end of the line.

Subject: [PRCo] Re: McKees Rocks
Wasn't the 'Schoenville' line isolated from the main tracks at some point in time? I seem to have heard or read that a double-end low-floor car was kept on the line and was maintained on the street until the line ended service. Is this true or just 'urban trolley legend' ?
