I remember the 1950's Pa. driver rules book being pocket-size and printed on
thin, flimsy paper.
The current Illinois drivers rule book is called, "Rules of the Road", and
is about 48 pages and 6"X8" size. Illinois seems to be serious - at least
in recent years - about drivers understanding the rules. Last month, former
Illinois Governor George Ryan was convicted on all 22 counts of an
indictment, in part involving "licenses for bribes" when he was head of the
office that issued CDLs.
