That North Avenue safety island was the layover for route 22, but after
22-Crosstown was discontinued, 77/54 was rerouted there, probably because of
the closing of streets around the Allegheny Center area.
I also took a photo of the front of 1436 at the layover that day - it's a
77/54 car.
