This morning I traveled to McDonald, Pennsylvania to photograph the rails in
Lincoln Avenue. The entire track of the Oakdale-McDonald Street Railway
appears to be intact in the Boro of McDonald, except for the switch points
at the passing siding in the middle of town. This line was built in 1907
and abandoned twenty years later. There is no evidence of rotting ties
under the track. Simply amazing if the originals are still in place.
Chris Walker, one of our best young docents and operators at PTM, lives
there and brought it to my attention yesterday.
