For those of you who just might be interested: Rich Steves' Travels
in Europe show on PBS television in my area today featured Milan,
Italy and Lake Como. The show was filmed in May 2006. Those of
you who have seen it need no explanation. The others need to know
this is a general travel show ... in this case the a bit of history,
pictures of the Duomo (the Milan Cathedral, the 4th largest in
Europe), the Vitorreo Emanuel II Gallery (the 1870s enclosed shopping
mall), a cemetery, downtown Milan, Stacione Centrale, and everywhere
he turned, trams, trams, trams and even a picture in the subway. I
think he had about a dozen clips with trams. Even the front of
Central Station just happened to have a Peter Witt passing it.

I'm always been partial to Steves' means of travel in Europe because
he recommends all means of travel ... heavily into mass transit in
the cities, trains between cities but occasional use of rental
cars. He highly recommends those wonderful country hotels without
lifts where you meet the local people.

I actually crossed paths with him and one of his tours once in the
Dordogne Region of France.

Anyone who wants to buy that DVD ... the phone number to order is 800
440-2651.
