  Good question!  .  
   
  Just a thought... the area of Forbes Avenue near the old Forbes Field also be a possibility.
   
  Another similar word is "youns" or "yuns" - which might be from the Carson Street area many years ago after generous drinking of Duquesne, Fort Pitt, and Iron City (beer, that is) after working at the "mills".  "Youns" sounds more Southern than "yinz" - hence the South Side.
