You are further East from me. You are having today, what we had yesterday. Started off (yesterday) around 2pm with light snow, to freezing rain, back to snow, then sunshine, then it warmed up to nearly 40degrees F last night with moderate rain. The big snow is today here in Cleveland. It should start for you, unless you are too far South, by tonight. We are to expect 6 or more inches by 6pm and another 6" overnight and then 4" to 8" tomorrow. I also take it you had "heavy rain", not a downpour of heavy rail cars.
