...another great Millvale car house photo.   Photos of the Millvale 
location are rare to me.   Even though the reason for the Sept. 1952 
abandonment of the Millvale & Etna lines is reported as "the state 
wanted right of way for highway,"   the carhouse itself continued as a 
bus depot for several years - I think - right in to the early 60's.  I 
recall coming across the 40th street bridge in the early 60's from 
Lawrenceville and turning right to go northbound on a bumpy route 28 
(patchy asphalt over bricks and car tracks) and seeing the old brick 
admin building and even part of an old track leading into the yards, to 
the right of 28.   Anyone know when Pgh Railways finally turned it 
over?  The car house location was just beyond the 40th Street bridge and 
the route 28 intersections with Grant street and Evergreen road.   The 
present route 28 highway sits right on top of the old car house area now.
