[PRCo] Re: JOHN M. PROPHET'S PCC CARS 1938-1948

I have this DVD and I've watched it several times - it is worth it for all
the reasons Bill stated. I have one disappointment though - too often the
film-clips are cut off as soon as the PCC car is out of the picture. Some
very nice scenes, some with older streetcars, are stopped too soon. So I
ask, are there any John Prophet trolley videos available that are not
restricted to PCCs?

Thanks.

John Prophet's videos of early PCC car operation have been re-issued by
Railroad Video Productions. Filmed between 1938 and 1949 this 16MM footage
is a real treat for its vivid colour, old cars, old buildings and of course
the PCC cars. There is an especially long Pittsburgh segment. Cars
featured in the video are mainly air-electric, but there are some
all-electrics on the Twin City Lines, Shaker Heights and Chicago. There is
no narration. It's available in DVD or VHS.
This was previously issued in the 70s or 80s by Empire Pictures, a defunct
video production company. Much of this footage also appeared in the videos
of the now defunct GPS Video.
