Stuffed and mounted = a museum display, non-operable, like a moose
head on a wall.

Brown spot on the earth = rust deposit = ferrous oxide stain.

You understand, Jerry, that I have gotten very cynical in my old
age. If seen enough stuffed and mounted engines and streetcars
scrapped because they fell into disrepair that I really don't expect
much better for this one, particularly if government is expected to
maintain it and they have other priorities. If it had been given to
a Museum Commission, then I might expect a better chance for survival
than if it must be maintained by someone who is going to spend their
time arguing about how to cut service in order to get money out of
politicians.

Clear as mud now?
