Even More 'Curiosier' is Why On Earth compare to Corgi in the
first place when it was an SPTC model that is the base for this
largescale model? As others have observed, the Corgi All-Electric
is based on the Philly cars which don't really reflect the average
All-Electric look and style. Then the Philly car is painted for a
variety of systems so it is anything but prototypical.
.
Here is a quote of the email from SPTC to me on 2006.09.21 about this
LargeScale  Air-Electric  PCC  "shell:::::::"

So this also addresses Mark's question -- this I-S a Philly
prototype -- look at the photo with the Corgi car along side -- the
truck style marker lights on the roof are visible.
Please___Note: This is a kit and as such would need to be
modified I-F the desire is to have it prototypical for some other
property. This is Very Standard in Model Railroading.
.
There is digital machinery which takes something from one scale and
actually enlarges it as either a final product or as pieces which can be
used to make castings. For smaller work, it does make the final
product and I have seen comments from people on other lists who use this
type of gear. I-F SPTC is satisfied with the quality of the
final car produced by GHB, SPTC 'may' finish some for GBH --
assemble and paint, etc.
.
I--F SPTC makes a 1.24 model themselves, they will start from
scratch to build up the car and It Will Be specific for one property,
just like All Their "O"-Scale models. SPTC themselves mention
that it won't be 'cheap" (a word I do Not like as it implies inferior
quality -- inexpensive would be a better term) but when SPTC does
something it is Extremely High Quality and every detail possible will be
on the model. I'll ask Leonid again if this project has moved any
further along ---- Pittsburgh modelers might want to know what
SPTC themselves will be offering in 1.24 before going elsewhere!!!!!!!
