And I worked with John A. Brashear at Burroughs Corporation several years
ago.  He also was somehow relates to the telescope maker.  It seems that
everyone is somehow connected to Derrick - or is it that Derrick is just
well-connected.

A couple decades ago I had professional dealngs with an IBMer out of
Pittsburgh named Jim Brashear. I asked him if he was related to John
Brashear the telescope maker. He said that John Brashear was his
great uncle.

Years later, I mentioned Jim to Derrick, who told me Jim was his
uncle.

So, unless I've slipped up somewhere, that means John A. Brashear was
Derrick's great grandfather's brother, or John was Derrick's great
great uncle. (Those were intended to be two ways of saying the same
thing. If they aren't, I _have_ slipped up somewhere.)
