Thanks for the article, Mark.
This slide, which I purchased from John Bromley, shows the traffic light
activator for southbound 42/38 cars entering Washington Road at the
intersection of McFarland and West Liberty.
Notice the stencils used to apply the dash numbers to car 1640. They weren't
the traditional PRCo style nor the the style later used by the Port
Authority.
You know, there ALWAYS seemed to be a GMC Fishbowl at this location every
time I walked or rode past the Dormont wye. It makes me wonder if there is
one still parked there today. ;-)
The photo dates from 1968. A Harre Demoro photo of this same car taken less
than a year later shows the paint in remarkably worse condition.
