The fade-out range is 10 to 5 mph on early PCC models and 5 to 3 mph on
later air cars (Pgh 1200 and subsequent). The difference is probably given
by different values of fixed resistances in the dynamic brake circuit.
On all-electric cars the shaft brake take-over point is approximately
between 3 and 1 mph; the speed of 0.75 mph is a point where the generated
current reaches absolute zero.
