[PRCo] Transit journals

It probably doesn't surprise you that I'm coming with an inquiry...
I'm looking for vintage journal articles concentrated on the arrival of PCC car in the US cities in 1936 to cca 1940. This subject had been given much publicity and these articles must exist... I know from other groups that no one would send me a xerox copy or a jpg file via e-mail, but some of you might suggest a list of appropriate transit journals. An another question is whether any of them are accessible other way than making a short return trip to the place they are stored and making a xerox copy for a fee. Does exist any scanned collection available on-line?
