Lucky to be in Chicago. I'm watching the FOX local morning news show and they just had a segment live from the shore of Lake Erie east of downtown. The wind is gusting to almost 30mph and a mix of small hail and snow is beginning to cover the ground at that location. Here in downtown it's just wind. However, the radar shows a large band of snow forming over the still warm, open waters of Lake Erie. This should be downtown before noon. Lots of green leaves still on the trees, however. Not much Fall colored leaves this year. BTW, the last snowfall here was 16inches on Easter Sunday. The "lake effect" snow is always the heaviest.

Tonight's weather forecast is very much in line with typical November
temperatures in the northeast and midwest. Don't worry about snow until late
November, and probably early December.

It's about 45 degrees here in Chicago tonight, but most of the leaves on the
trees are still green and we haven't seen a snowflake since last March.
