Another Indiana entity with a long history of supporting our interests
is the INDIANA UNIVERSITY PRESS. They have current nistorical titles in
print dealing with Jewett, Brill, the electrification of mainline steam
railroads, and the INDIANA RAILROAD.

Happily , they are conducting one of their discount sales that lowers
the price of the last named to less than it can be obtained anywhere.

They are offered as part of the "Hoosier" collection along with many
bargain basement priced rail books that do not deal with juice lines.
Specifically, both of J. Parker Lamb's locomtive development tracts
(PERFECTING THE AMERICAN STEAM LOCOMOTIVE and EVOLUTION OF THE AMERICAN
DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE), and UNCLE SAM's LOCOMOTIVES, which is a history of
the US Railway Administration standard design locomotives that had such
a profound effect on our rail scene are being sold cheaply. They have
taken 25% off their , arguably, most important recent volume. Namely,
the 1200 pps+, ENCYCLOPEDIA of NORTH AMERICAN RAILROADS. The latter is
still a stiff seventy five bucks, and you might get your local club or
public library reference branch to spring for it, if the tariff is too
much. In any event, many rail related books at fire sale prices can be
currently found at the IU Press; as see:
