The key phrase here is "......unions pushed the wages beneath me upward in the 1970s and 1980s........." Specifically, the part about 1970s and 1980s. Then, in the pre-Destroy The Middle Class era, unions did the job they were supposed to do. Today they tend to be managements mouthpieces. The tell us when we have been bad boys and girls and that we should not sass the upper class. Yea................sure we won't.
