[PRCo] Re: Crime in the Big Cities

Cleveland's rail services are very safe to ride. The only thing I ever remember happening on the rail system was a 'middle of the night' holdup of the few passengers on a Red Line heavy rail rapid transit train. That was seven years ago. Our whole system now uses high technology survallaince systems almost to a fault. Between the advanced communications systems on cars, trains and buses, cameras, unseen metal detectors, large toothed German Shepherd police dogs (six on the Transit Police now), Transit Police in general, public telephone monitoring (yes, public telephone) equipment, fail-safe employee entry badges and God knows what else, it is unlikely that anything of a criminal nature would not attract the attention of the police before it got out of hand. Most of this high tech equipment has been installed since 9/11/2001 with US Govt money grants for these projects. Anyone know what PATransit uses?

Also the "bigger" the Amusement Parks get the more lower paid
jobs and also undesirables are moving in, subsequently more
crime.

The reason I posted this "crime" report was what you brought up about the T in Pittsburgh, How safe are the stops
in the cities operating LRV service?
