I swear, the people at Volvo who designed the Nova LFS must have been a
drunk or stoned or perhaps a combination of the both at the time the
came up with the idea for that bus. ASD

The Nova low-floor bus is one of the worst public transit vehicles I
have ever been on. Very few seats, and those that do exist are poorly
laid out. In the rear of the bus some of the seats face backward and
force people to ride knee to knee.

Prevost A.K.A Volvo, I ride their stupid buses almost every day. Their
Nova LFS model has even received the moniker of "Low F*g S**t" from
even bus buffs. I had a chance to ride their 60 foot model, compared to
their 40 foot version. This was just 20 feet of more @#$%^. They're
about as ergonomic as a torture chamber.

One of the more flippant definitions of insanity is to keep doing the
same thing and yet expecting a different result. So, all I can say about
handing VIA more money -again- and expecting a different result is a
form of bureaucratic insanity.Actually....that's NOT all I have to say.
I used to work at VIA, insofar 'work' is an applicable term at any Crown
Corporation. Giving VIA this kind of money is (to paraphrase American
humourist P.J. O'Rourke) "like giving hard liquor and car keys to
17-year old boys." In other words, it's a recipe for disaster. Ask
yourself this: If VIA is based in Montreal, if the Transport Minister,
Lawrence Cannon, is Harper's "Quebec Lieutenant", if all that flows from
VIA flows from Montreal -why on Earth was the Big Announcement made in
Toronto?I'll tell ya why. It was a very clumsy attempt at political
sleight-of-hand. And we bought it. Well, most people did anyway. See, if
you didn't know a whole lot about VIA, if you never took a train, and
you picked up a Toronto Star and saw the dog-n-pony show at Union
Station you might just think that Toronto had something to do with
running the show. Hardly. But that's what the Government wants English
Canada to think -that they actually run something. My apologies for the
length of this message. As Mark Twain said "I didn't have time to write
a short one.">>>>>>>
