I love Jerry's comment about Jacksonville.   It reminded me of a  
remark made by a conductor on the Staten Island Rapid Transit in 1969  
when it was still owned by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (the Best  
and Only).   In those days they still lifted tickets and cash fares  
on the trains.   Today's its just part of the New York subway system.

We got down to the south end of the line one evening and the  
conductor called out, "Tottenville, Tottenville, Where New York  
Begins!"    In those days there were still a few farms down on Staten  
Island.
