It's good to check things like this and not rely on the memory. The date
that through service ended was August 19, 1915. So that route number (93)
could certainly have been operational. I didn't have time yesterday to go
through the 1914 news clippings to look at the large advertisement the
company took out to announce the new destination numbers and see if it was
in there. Maybe when things settle a bit.
We have the Association of Railway Museums convention at PTM right now, and
although I'm not "attending," I'm doing a seminar this morning and helping
to supervise the railroad Sunday morning while the visitors play with the
toys. Plus who knows what else will crop up. And it's not that I don't
have other things to do, some of which I would actually get paid to do!!!

I'll have to check the closure date for the through service from New
Kensington, etc. PRCo didn't begin to use the destination numbers (like
"93") until 1914, and I think the Valley Route strike, and the attendant
refusal of Division 85 to operate their cars into the city, occurred before
that. So "93" may be a railfan-contrived number, but I'm not certain.

...and I think the 89 was used for the "Frankstown Short." The 59 --
wasn't that for the Homeville route? And in earlier times, the 93, wasn't
that somehow linked to West Penn Railways' Valley route to New Kensington?
